We are delighted to invite you to the concert of the Fausto Sierakowski Trio, taking place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Traverso Art Theatre in Thessaloniki.
Fausto Sierakowski Trio
A saxophonist of French origin, Fausto Sierakowski has called Greece home since 2016. In the winter of 2020, he met Panagiotis Kaitatzis and Stratis Skourkeas in Athens, and since then they have been collaborating on original compositions inspired by the traditional music of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Through a minimal yet flexible instrumentation, their music travels from the vibrant rhythmic patterns of the Balkans and the repertoire of the zourna to more contemplative songs and the diverse atmospheres of Eastern modal traditions, where the musicians often move freely through improvisation.
The programme features both original compositions and pieces drawn from traditional and classical repertoires.
Previous International Performances: Windcraft Festival (Cyprus), Errichetta Festival (Italy), Camerata Figarella (France)
