Two Days of Oud with Marina Liontou Mochament

For the first time in Thessaloniki, oud player Marina Liontou Mochament invites oud players to a two-day workshop dedicated to the study and practice of the instrument.

The workshop will focus on technique, practice methods, style, sound and musical aesthetics through a hands-on approach suitable for participants with different levels of experience.

Day 1 – Sound and Technique

• Discussion and practical advice on sound production
• Finger exercises
• Plectrum exercises

Day 2 – Repertoire

• The role of the oud across different musical traditions
• Accompaniment and rhythm
• Musical phrases and vocabulary

The workshop will take place at olipoli's space in the Cultural Neighborhood of the Municipality of Neapoli-Sykies.

Friday, 3 July | 18:30–21:30
Saturday, 4 July | 10:30–13:30

Participants may attend either one or both workshop sessions.
