TERPSIS ORCHESTRA
140-Member Contemporary Orchestra
A Tribute to Contemporary Greek Song
This year, the 140-member contemporary folk orchestra Terpsis Orchestra presents a unique concert dedicated to contemporary Greek song. Beloved works by Sokratis Malamas, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, and Giannis Haroulis are reimagined through original arrangements, creating a vibrant dialogue between tradition and the present day.
Traditional sounds, rhythms, and polyphonic textures meet contemporary artistic expression, forming a rich soundscape where the boundaries between folk, popular, and art music become increasingly fluid. What remains at the centre is the collective memory carried by these songs—constantly evolving and continuing to resonate with audiences today.
The concert features acclaimed singer Melina Kana as a special guest, one of the most distinctive voices of contemporary Greek song.
